Still Waiting
Nearly 250,000 people in Scotland are waiting for a social home, with over 10,000 children growing up in temporary accommodation. Our Still Waiting campaign aims to highlight the human impact of that - and create the change needed.
Nearly 250,000 people in Scotland are waiting for a social home, with over 10,000 children growing up in temporary accommodation. Our Still Waiting campaign aims to highlight the human impact of that - and create the change needed.
To understand what it means to be waiting for a safe, secure affordable home we need to look beyond the statistics.
We launched our campaign before the last Scottish budget announcement, highlighting the stories of people who were waiting.
As part of our campaign, our new report ‘Still Waiting’ further shines a light on the experiences of people waiting for a social home– whether it’s children growing up in overcrowded housing, people experiencing homelessness or people living in situations that they can either no longer afford or where they feel unsafe.
These are the experiences of just 30 of the thousands that need a safe, secure, affordable home. It’s clear from this that we need change – and we’d be grateful for any support that helps us amplify that message.
There are a few ways you can help:
