Last week SFHA travelled to Westminster to meet with MPs and launch ‘Social Housing in Scotland: A Guide for MPs and Staff’.

The event, held in the Palace of Westminster, provided the opportunity to meet new MPs, discuss any issues of interest and publicise the report. The guide is intended to outline facts about Scotland’s social homes and how best to engage with housing associations and co-operatives.

Across the board, MPs welcomed the report and the guidance on how to best tackle their housing casework. Sponsored by Gordon McKee MP, the event attracted representation from across the main parties. Secretary of State for Scotland, Ian Murray MP, welcomed the team back to Westminster having attended SFHA’s event in 2023 which launched a report into the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on Scotland’s social tenants.

You can find the guide here – and the public affairs team are always available to discuss any engagement you might have with MPs or MSPs. You can get in touch with Jen Gracie, Public Affairs and Media Manager on JGracie@sfha.co.uk
