A partnership between the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA), TECH in Housing (TECH), Link Housing, and Lightning Reach has clinched the top prize in the Service Development category at DigiFest 2024. The accolade celebrates the success of their joint Financial Inclusion pilot, designed to help tenants unlock access to unclaimed financial aid.
The pilot tackles the barriers that often prevent tenants from accessing the financial support they’re entitled to. By harnessing Lightning Reach’s innovative digital platform, tenants can quickly check their eligibility and apply for multiple forms of aid in one straightforward process. This simplified system has already resulted in more successful claims, ensuring tenants receive much-needed help faster and with far less hassle.
This project is an example of teamwork, with SFHA, TECH, Link Housing, and Lightning Reach each contributing their unique expertise in housing, technology, and tenant support. Together, they’ve developed a model with the potential to transform financial inclusion across Scotland's housing sector.
The pilot will run until mid-2025, after which its impact will be assessed. The ultimate goal? To expand this approach so even more tenants across Scotland can benefit. Winning at DigiFest 2024 underlines how powerful cross-sector collaboration can be in tackling financial inequality and boosting tenant well-being.
