This week the First Minister held a high-profile Anti-Poverty Summit, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss what more needs to be done to tackle poverty in Scotland. Sally Thomas, SFHA CEO, was pleased to take part on behalf of the sector alongside other organisations, political party leaders and people with direct experience of poverty.

As part of the summit, Sally emphasised that social homes are fundamental to tackling poverty and outlined the work our members do every day to support people. Director of External Affairs, Carolyn Lochhead, also spoke to the BBC about the event and the need to achieve our affordable housing targets.

At First Minister’s Questions today, Thursday 4 March, the First Minister spoke positively about the event and committed to using all of Scottish Government’s powers to tackle poverty.
