Changeworks and Harbour Homes

Changeworks has had a longstanding partnership with Harbour Homes to deliver support to its staff and energy advice to its tenants. Changeworks has been instrumental in helping Harbour Homes access long-term funding for local energy advice services. Most recently this has included the Social Housing Fuel Support Fund where we worked on the funding application to support Harbour Homes to fund delivery of energy advice and fuel debt vouchers for tenants in need.

Advice approaches have evolved over the years to best meet the changing needs of Harbour Homes’ tenants and community. Harbour Homes plays a key role within its community, providing an anchor for all types of support. Approaches have evolved to tackle poverty more holistically, with Changeworks working together with Harbour Homes and other local organisations to deliver a comprehensive local support package. Harbour Homes’ dedicated Welfare Rights Team supports income maximisation, Changeworks energy advice tackles fuel poverty, and Edinburgh Community Food deliver initiatives to tackle food poverty, working with Changeworks to incorporate food waste workshops. They all work with Stepping Stones to reach parents and young children most in need. 

Its work with Harbour Homes demonstrates Changeworks' flexibility and partnership working, always evolving and adapting to make sure we provide the right services at the right time.
