SFHA publishes Housing to 2040 resources for members

In March 2021, the Scottish Government released its long-awaited blueprint for the next 20 years of housing: Housing to 2040. There is much to welcome in this ambitious strategy, and, if it is delivered, the long-term vision could help to ensure that everyone in Scotland has a safe, warm, energy efficient, affordable home in the future.

The SFHA Policy, Innovation and Digital teams have published a series of papers which look at specific elements of the Scottish Government’s Housing to 2040 strategy in detail, with a focus on the known and potential implications for members. 

The papers also include an overview of work already in train at SFHA under each element, as well as plans for future work, including engagement with members, Scottish Government and key sector partners.

SFHA Policy Manager, Stacey Dingwall, said: “SFHA welcomed the Scottish Government’s Housing to 2040 strategy, noting the many shared ambitions with our sector on what housing should mean for everyone in Scotland: safe, warm and affordable”. 

“SFHA and our members are now keen to learn more on government plans to realise the strategy’s vision and ambition, and particularly on how we can continue to work together on key elements such as those which these papers focus on”. 

“These new resources for SFHA members offer insight into what we know so far, what we’re already working on at SFHA and crucially, how members can get involved”. 

MS Team sessions on briefing topics

The SFHA team will be running short MS Teams sessions on the topics raised in the paper over the next few weeks, to allow members with a particular interest in any of the areas to connect in with the relevant SFHA lead(s) and discuss with sector colleagues.
