New Regulatory Framework published

Posted Tuesday 13th February by Admin User

The Scottish Housing Regulator has published the final version of the new Regulatory Framework - due to come into force on 1 April.  This follows an extensive period of consultation, with the final document available on the SHR website: Scottish Housing Regulator publishes its new Regulatory Framework | Scottish Housing Regulator

A number of amendments have been made to the previous draft version, in response to comments made by SFHA and others.

Notable amendments that reflect the SFHA response to the consultation include:

  • Merging appeals/review guidance
  • Bringing forward any AAS additional requirements the SHR may ask for to end of March and making clear reference that additions will not be long standing/lead to unwieldy statements
  • An additional annual report on notifiable events detailing how the SHR deals with requests

The SHR will also be engaging further with the SFHA regarding recommendations in our recent Regulatory Framework in Practice Research.

The SHR will be consulting further on revisions to the Annual Return on the Charter in the coming months, and will be updating its Business Planning Recommended Practice.

If you have any queries regarding the new Framework or upcoming consultations, please contact Alan Stokes, Policy Lead.
