The World of Housing campaign takes to the road on Monday and Tuesday next week, when an experiential learning event on social regeneration will be delivered by seven participants from Caledonia Housing Association and Wheatley Housing Group who are taking part in the GEM Programme.

This social regeneration GEM Shack is for 55 upcoming housing professionals from across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, who are taking part in the GEM Programme. The event will take place in Glasgow and Dumbarton and includes study visits to Wheatley's Home Comforts and Caledonia Housing's Bellsmyre Estate.

The GEMs will work in teams to develop innovative ideas on how Wheatley and Caledonia might enhance their approaches to social regeneration. The GEM Shack will culminate in a series of presentations to a panel of senior executives, from Wheatley and Caledonia, who will provide feedback to the GEMs on their creative thinking.

The GEM Shack is part of the World of Housing campaign, launched by SFHA last year in collaboration with Wheatley Group and the GEM Programme. World of Housing is part of the SFHA’s Routes to Housing strategy and aims to create a pipeline of talented upcoming professionals to sustain the future of the housing sector in Scotland.

There are currently seven Scottish housing associations and 12 Scottish GEMs involved in the GEM Programme as part of World of Housing. The next GEM Programme will start in January 2023 and recruitment is already underway.
