Supporting Independence at Home

Our Suppporting Independence at home webinar, taking place on 7 Decmber and aimed at practitioners and policy makers in housing health and social care, will look at what works in the built and design environment to help people live independently.

Housing associations have a vital role in providing well designed accessible homes that meet people’s aspirations to live as independently as possible. The Scottish Government have set out a number of commitments in Housing to 2040 to support independent living including:

a review of Housing with Varying Needs, and
a commitment to streamline the adaptations system beginning with a review in 2021 of how the system works.

The Scottish Government have also just concluded its consultation on a National Care Service and good quality accessible housing is vital for the health, wellbeing and quality of life for people across Scotland.
