SFHA has created a toolkit that members can use to take part in its Housing Changes Lives election campaign.

With the Scottish Parliament election taking place next month, SFHA has developed a package of materials which members can use if they’d like to get involved in our campaign activity.

Included in the toolkit is a template press release for your local media, a template letter to candidates, suggested social media posts with accompanying graphics, our key asks, and a list of other documents which you may find useful such as SFHA’s manifesto.

Ahead of the election, SFHA has also been meeting with each of the main political parties to share our key manifesto asks. These asks were developed through our engagement work with members on issues such as Housing to 2040. We are pleased with the response so far and expect to see social housing feature prominently in each party manifesto when they are published this month.

Our virtual Housing Hustings event took place on Wednesday 14 April,– where delegates were able to ask the party representatives questions about key issues affecting the social housing sector.
You can view a recording of the event via the SFHA Live! section of our website.

The toolkit includes:

  • PDF overview of the toolkit materials (including key asks, useful links, and social media guide)
  • Template letter (Word document)
  • Template press release (Word document)
  • Social media images
