Scottish Borders Housing Association has announced the appointment of Susan McDonald as its new Director of Customer Services.

With over 25 years’ experience in housing in Scotland, Susan brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Having been a solicitor specialising in social housing for over two decades, Susan has held governance and senior leadership roles in the social housing sector, most recently as Executive Director of Operations at the Kingdom Group where she was responsible for Housing, Asset Management, Development, and Customer Services.

SBHA’s Chief Executive, Julia Mulloy, says: “We are excited to have Susan join our dedicated team. Susan joins us at a pivotal time as we embark on the next phase of our journey and shape our future plans. Her extensive experience in social housing combined with her demonstrated passion for delivering excellent services to customers and communities will ensure we continue to build on our achievements and drive forward our mission. I look forward to working with Susan and have no doubt her contribution will be invaluable as we continue to improve our services to deliver the best possible outcomes for customers.”

In her new role, Susan will provide strategic leadership for Customer Services, ensuring alignment with SBHA’s strategic objectives and values and building on its customer-centric culture.

Speaking of her appointment, Susan says: "I am delighted to be joining Scottish Borders Housing Association as Director of Customer Services at this exciting stage in its journey, and I am looking forward to building on the work that has already been done to deliver a great customer experience for all SBHA Tenants and communities. I am particularly looking forward to meeting Tenants and residents, hearing from them directly on what is important to them, and learning how we can support them given the challenges both Tenants and social landlords are facing at this time."

Susan takes up her new role with SBHA on the 2nd December.
