River Clyde Homes has announced help available for tenants struggling with the financial pressures of rising living costs, after receiving grant awards totalling £14,900.
It applied for, based on customer referrals, and received £8,900 from the Cash for Kids Winter Support Fund to help low-income families with basic essentials such as food, fuel and warm clothing. It was also then awarded a further £6,000 from the STV Appeal Scottish Government Winter Support Fund to top up the funds available to support families in need.
River Clyde Homes will use this sum of £14,900 in grant funding to support 240 children from low-income families who will each receive a voucher.
Elaine Cannon, Senior Housing Manager at RCH said: “We are delighted to have been successful in our further bid for funding from Cash for Kids as well as the additional funding received from the STV appeal. This is great news for the local community and the total funding of £14,900 means 240 children of low-income families will receive a voucher up the value of £70 to purchase basic essentials.”
