SFHA and Homeless Network Scotland have made the difficult decision to postpone their conference, 'Preventing Homelessness: The Right to an Adequate Home', which was due to take place on 25 August in Edinburgh. It is hoped that the event will be rescheduled for early 2023, and further updates will be shared when a new date has been secured.
The Protecting Homes, Preventing Eviction research and the toolkit will now be launched at a free webinar on 25 August, from 14:00 to 16:15.
The research examined evidence from existing research and current practice to prevent homelessness. This enabled the researchers to identify key factors that help protect a tenancy and develop a practical resource to help social landlords to reflect on their own practice to protect homes, prevent eviction and maximise tenancy sustainment.
The project team examined data and heard from people’s experience of homelessness along with examples of practice from local authorities, housing associations and housing support providers.
Neil Morland Consultants undertook the research, and the author is Tim Gray. It was commissioned in partnership by SFHA, Homeless Network Scotland, Crisis, Simon Community Scotland and ALACHO.
