Pineview Housing Association's recent Investors in People interim review review, which took place during September and October 2022, has found that the association provides “a very supportive environment for your staff and maximise the opportunities to enhances their learning and professional development".

A spokesperson for Pineview Housing Association said: "The last couple of years have been challenging for every business and their people due to the coronavirus pandemic and the global and UK economic turmoil and, now, the cost of living crisis.

"Pineview was not only dealing with the impact of these major events, but the association also completed a transfer of engagements to provide a better future for the tenants of Kendoon Housing Association. These circumstances generated significant additional workloads, with new staff posts being created and new staff joining the team.  The association, strategically directed by its Committee of Management, worked hard to review ways of working and supporting the staff team to deliver.

"With working arrangements to support a mix of working from home and working from the office, along with a mix of full time and part time working, the association is a flexible employer. The interim IIP review recognised that the team are are working hard to address a backlog of work, and that there are many strengths being demonstrated, including:

  • team members stating that Pineview is a great place to work
  • there is visible, approachable, and supportive leadership
  • positive feedback on the support provided to people especially on health and wellbeing and guidance
  • staff are treated as individuals and there is flexibility
  • strong emphasis on training and development, including support to obtain professional qualifications
  • investment in technological solutions to increase efficiencies in ways of working

"The report, recognising all the hard work from the team, has provided a real boost for everyone. While everyone knows that there is still much that can be built on and developed further, it is reassuring to have the recognition from the internationally recognised Investors in People that what the association is doing is making work better for its people. The association will strive to meet the recommendations from the report to:

  • keep doing what we are doing
  • maintain our strong focus on health and wellbeing
  • maintain our culture of appreciation
  • continue to recruit to our values
  • keep encouraging ideas and suggestions from all staff
  • hold another all-staff team day when appropriate to do so
  • have some social fun events to support team building."
