The Minister for Housing met with members of the SFHA Board on Tuesday to discuss a range of issues affecting housing associations and co-operatives across Scotland.

At a regular meeting of the Board in Glasgow, SFHA was pleased to welcome Paul McLennan MSP, who has continued in his role as Minister for Housing following the election of John Swinney as First Minister.

Among the issues discussed with the Minister was the impact of the Scottish Government's cut to the affordable housing supply programme on housing associations' development plans, as well as exploring the challenges of relying on private finance to build affordable rented homes.

There was also discussion about the Scottish Government's Housing Bill, with concerns aired about provisions relating to private sector rent controls affecting the viability of Mid-Market Rent developments.

SFHA looks forward to working constructively with the Scottish Government to support members on a range of issues.
