On 3 August, it was confirmed that Scotland will move beyond level 0 from 9 August, meaning that the legal requirements for physical distancing will no longer be in place but will still be advised where possible.

For RSLs, the announcement means employers should continue to support home working, where possible, however, it is recognised that some staff may begin to return to offices “in line with staff wellbeing discussions and business need”. As previously noted by the Social Housing Resilience Group’s (SHRG), Guide to Managing Services, some services provided by social landlords may be considered essential, and employers should make their own decisions with regard to the re-opening of offices, recognising local circumstances and the latest public health guidance.
