  • Digital Strategy into Operations journey with Link Group.  Maarten Westerduin, Digital Delivery & Transformation Manager at Link Group will be giving us an insight into the digital strategy they created and implemented and sharing some of their successes along the way. 

  • Innovation incubation for better housing systems. Oliver Florence from Broadleaf will join us to tell the story of how they have worked with Welsh Housing Associations to design and build cost-effective, innovative system solutions that address the challenges in the housing sector. 

  • Fully funded tech upskilling for your staff. Ronnie Beattie, Glasgow Caledonian University will share with us information on fully funded tech qualifications that Housing Association staff can apply for.

At the end of March we ran a well-received webinar on AI in Social Housing, hosted by Gary Dickson, SFHA Digital and Design Manager with a presentation from Michael Appleby, Managing Director of Altair Consulting.  
 
Key takeaways 
Michael delivered a great talk and led us through a journey of generative AI to date and where we will see the use of it in our sector. Some key takeaways mentioned that SFHA members should take note of: 

  • Humans using AI will replace those that don’t 
  • AI is already commonplace so you need to consider its use 
  • Draft an AI policy, however simple 
  • Consider upskilling staff in it 
  • 2024 is the year of AI embedded in practical use 
  • AI is a leadership-level issue, not a technical issue
