Homes for life moves to a four day week

Homes for life introduces a four day working week for staff.

Homes for life has announced that from Monday 2 December, it will introduce a four day working week.  This change is part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of its employees, while continuing to provide quality services to tenants and the community. 

The chance will enable Homes for Life to support its future investment plans, allowing to invest savings in planned maintenance and future developments. 

The team will continue to assist tenants with its office and contact lines now open from Monday to Thursday as follows:

  • Office open Monday - Thursday from 09:00 - 17:00 (closed for lunch between 12:30 and 13:30)
  • Calls taken Monday to Thursday from 08:30 - 17:30
  • Home visits now available between 08:30 - 09:30 and 17:00 - 18:00 Monday - Thursday
  • Office closed to the public on Fridays with out of hours emergency service in place. 

The repairs services will continue as normal and still be available Monday to Friday with an out of ours service for emergencies. 

By adopting this new work structure, Homes for Life aims to promote a healthier work/life balance, boost productivity, and maintain the level of of services.  It will monitor the impact of the chance, with the board making a final decision in March 2025.
