A new place-based funding programme, offering grants up to £1.5 million, has opened for expressions of interest, Historic Environment Scotland has announced.

The new Heritage and Place Programme is an area-based funding programme that aims to contribute to the development of vibrant and sustainable places in Scotland through community-based regeneration of the historic environment.

The Heritage and Place Programme is open to local authorities, national park authorities and not-for-profit organisations. The National Lottery Heritage Fund is also partnering the programme to take a collective approach to area-based funding.

Further information is available here.

If you would like to learn more about this funding programme and how it may be relevant for some of the communities you work with, an awareness session, providing a general overview of the programme, will be held on 27 April and a further session for potential applicants on 18 May 2022, times to be confirmed. You can register your interest for either of these events by contacting grants@hes.scot
