Ofgem to announce new cap tomorrow.
Energy regulator Ofgem will announce the next official quarterly price cap on Friday, with the cap expected to rise by 9%. The cap sets out the amount an energy supplier can charge for each unit of electricity and gas.
This would mean a household using a typical amount of gas and electricity would pay £1,714 a year from October, a £146 a year rise compared with a current typical annual bill.
SFHA is engaging with Ofgem and will continue to call for wider reforms from the UK Government - including the introduction of a social tariff - to help protect tenants.
We also call for a range of measures related to energy in our asks of Scottish Government ahead of the Programme for Government next month. You can find our Programme for Government briefing here.
