DWP confirms no bulk upload for rent changes in 2021
DWP acknowledges this would come as 'disappointing news' and social landlords may need to provide claimants with support, depending on their individual needs.

The DWP has confirmed there will be no bulk upload for rent changes in 2021. In a communication sent to the Universal Credit Landlord Portal, DWP acknowledged this would come as 'disappointing news', and social landlords may need to provide claimants with support, depending on their individual needs.
The agency said it had been using a test and learn approach to allow landlords to upload their amended rents over the last two annual rent changes, both in April 2020 in Great Britain, and in Northern Ireland in October 2020. However, it hadn't yet found a secure, scalable way for this to happen. It indicated the test and learn had identified significant issues to work through with landlords, and, as a result, it would be unable to offer a bulk upload facility in 2021.
