Dressed to kilt

Linstone Housing has completed a tartan fundraising walk for St Vincent’s Hospice in Renfrewshire. Fourteen staff from the housing association took part in the recent Kiltwalk – held virtually across Scotland because of the pandemic.

They walked, ran and cycled in the sunshine and raised £5000 to support the work of the hospice.

Eleven thousand kiltwalkers took part raising a sensational £2.7 million which philanthropist and renowned businessman Sir Tom Hunter has doubled to £4.1 million.

St Vincent’s is Linstone’s chosen charity for the year and a worthy beneficiary of the staff’s efforts.

Kiltwalkers were invited to don a bit of tartan and complete a socially-distanced challenge of their choice such as cycling, running or walking in the nationwide charity effort.

Fiona Dunlop, Linstone’s Community Engagement Officer praised the staff’s effort. She said:“The staff did an amazing job raising funds for St Vincent’s, who do such wonderful work in our community.

“It is great that the Kiltwalk continues to do such inspiring fundraising work for so many Scottish charities and we are pleased to be doing our bit for St Vincent’s.”

Carol-Anne Lamont, Income Generation Lead at St Vincent’s said: “On behalf of all involved with the hospice, I would like to thank all the staff at Linstone who took part in the Kiltwalk. Their fantastic efforts will help us to continue to support those who need it within our community.”
