Digital Telecare for Scottish Local Government has launched a new Housing Pathway on the Digital Telecare Playbook to support telecare service providers with their transition to digital telecare.
The Pathway, split into eight phases, has been aligned with the TEC in Housing Charter which was launched in 2019 and developed as part of the Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Ready Programme funded by the Scottish Government’s TEC Programme and hosted by the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). The Pathway is led by an 'Educational Documentation' Phase, providing overarching information and guidance relating to the digital telecare transition and is supported by a further seven phases, linking to each Pledge within the TEC in Housing Charter:
There is an array of considerations for housing providers to take the necessary steps to ensure the transition from analogue to digital telecare is safe, efficient and innovative for their tenants living at home. The Housing Pathway provides guidance and information on these considerations and also underpins the importance of working with health and social care partnerships, NHS, Local Government, Third Sector and the wider community to successfully deliver this transition.
A second iteration of the Pathway is planned for winter 2021 which will include further guidance on operational procedures and managing alerts, a brand-new benefit management template and more.
Telecare service providers including local authorities, health and social care partnerships and housing providers can access this Pathway by registering to the Digital Telecare Playbook.
