Ahead of its sponsorship of the conference, CPL Software introduces itself to SFHA members.

We have been operating since 2010 in the Scottish factoring market providing cutting edge software to both the private and public sector. CPL’s software - born from the need to satisfy new stringent legislation from within the ‘Property Factors Act’ - has proved an extremely valuable tool for property factors up and down the country.

CPL is primarily a factoring finance solution, allowing businesses to very easily manage their factoring finances through client apportionments, purchase ledger management, sinking funds, insurance premiums and so much more. However, over the years CPL has rapidly evolved to not only satisfy legislative requirements but to enhance its functionality to help businesses to provide a better all-round service. In its 14th year, CPL now comprises of a full factoring eco-system, touching on every aspect of a property manager’s working week. From the aforementioned financial management, to contractor portals, inspection reports and client engagement, CPL does it all!

So why haven’t you heard of us, you may be thinking? CPL has primarily focused on the private factoring industry over its lifetime. Satisfying the needs of private factors has allowed us to canvas their challenges and develop new software to help overcome them. This has served us extremely well over the last decade and a half. CPL now facilitates the management of over 95% of the private factoring market, equating to around 400,000 units, you may have even used our software without knowing it!

Due to this success, we now have housing associations seeking our guidance on their factoring procedures. Housing associations have long been faced with having to factor a significant portion of stock that was purchased by previous tenants, doing so without the proper tools needed to perform what is an inherently complicated practice. From speaking to a number of housing associations we realised that the housing management software they were using to manage their factoring processes, whilst adequate, really fell short of what the private industry have been using for the last decade.

Our software helps the Scottish factoring market to tick each and every day of the year. Our expertise in this field is unmatched, and is a source of valuable information which we believe should be shared.

Our involvement in this year’s factoring conference is to help provide some insight into best practices, tips, tricks and advice on how you can turn what can often be described as a necessary evil into a service that you’re proud to run and one that significantly improves the quality of your owners’ lives. Housing associations exist to serve their owners and tenants, by fulfilling one of humankind’s most basic needs, shelter. We understand how deeply you care for these individuals and believe that you should be equipped with the best information available to aid in you in your services.

We’ll be running a workshop outlining some best practice workflows and also hosting a panel of experts from both the private and public factoring sector where we’ll have an open discussion on the current challenges facing the industry and the solutions to these difficult questions. You’ll have an opportunity to ask our panel the burning questions you need the answers to and join in open discussion.

Our aim is to help the people in the industry we’ve been so deeply involved in for the last decade and a half and provide help and guidance any which way we can.

We’re very much looking forward to seeing you there, and if there’s anything we can help with please do not hesitate to pop over and say hello.
