Ardenglen outlines options for new community space and garden

Local people in Castlemilk heard about plans for a new community hub and growing space at its very first outdoor Autumn Festival.
 

Ardenglen Housing Association used the festival as an opportunity to consult local people about how they would like the Hub and the growing space to be used.
 

Other activities for kids at the festival included balloon sculpture, a science workshop and cake decoration. The association’s energy advice financial inclusion team were on hand to help local people with advice on financial and energy matters keep bills down and Scottish Fire and Rescue were there to offer safety in the home tips. 
 

‘We wanted to get local people’s input into what shape the new growing space and hub would take and the type of plants that we could grow there and the type of activities that could take place inside. Local people are really looking forward to the hub opening and having access to a new outdoor area the feedback we got about both has been terrific,’ said Ardenglen’s Community Investment Manager, Fiona McGowan. 
 

Ardenglen manage around 1000 houses in the Castlemilk area of south Glasgow.
