What in the artificial intelligence does this all mean?!

Join us to answer the big questions, and explore the concept and practical applications of AI for the housing sector in Scotland. A whirlwind session to break down the very imminent future for this emerging technology and the effects it will have on our roles and organisations.

As artificial intelligence becomes more and more prevalent in our personal lives, the same goes for our professional ones. Generative AI and other forms of it are now being integrated and used within various industry sectors.

We will be hearing about all things AI from Michael Appleby, Managing Director of Altair Consulting. Michael will discuss some of the applications in the Housing sector and where we might see the most effective use of it for SFHA members. The session will include the following:

  • Explanation of key types of AI that would be used to help tenants and HA staff i.e. conversational AI / generative AI
  • What housing associations and co-operatives need to do in order to adopt AI
  • Some of the example use cases and the potential areas that would prove most suitable currently
  • Any developing trends or challenges in housing that would foster use of AI
  • The risks of AI i.e. no guard rails in place can cause good AI to work badly
  • Considerations for an AI policy

*This is the postponed webinar that was due to take place as part of the last Digital and IT network meeting.

Who can attend?

The event is open to both SFHA members and non-members interested in AI.

The event will take place virtually online, hosted by Gary Dickson, SFHA Digital and Design Manager, with main presentation and then a roundtable discussion for further questions.
